Welcome to Nutrition in Dental Made Fun

Good nutrition is not just about following strict diets; it involves fueling your body with whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats to keep you energized and focused. Vitamin B9, also known as folate, supports the health of gum tissue and may help prevent periodontal disease by promoting cell repair and growth.

Cooking together as a family makes mealtime fun and educational. Children who help prepare food are more likely to try new dishes. Moreover, family meals can enhance moods, strengthen relationships, and even improve academic performance.

About Me

My name is Terrika, 'm an Air Force veteran and former Military Police officer who found a new mission in dentistry. After my service, I pursued dental assistant training at an accredited school and quickly landed my first role in the field. My passion and dedication helped me grow into a Dental Assistant Team Leader, where I found joy not just in the work itself but also in supporting and educating others.
Encouraged by my coworkers and driven by a genuine love for teeth, I'm now exploring becoming a dental hygienist—and maybe even a dentist one day! Educating friends and family about oral health has become a big part of my life because I believe a healthy smile is powerful.

Fun Nutrition Foods

When it comes to nutrition, I like to keep it clean, colorful, and homemade. I usually cook at home and love experimenting with new recipes—there's something fun about turning fresh ingredients into a delicious meal. I don’t crave takeout, fried food, or sugary snacks. You’re more likely to catch me munching on a crisp apple than reaching for a Snickers.

Oral Health

Oral health and nutrition are closely linked; what we eat impacts not only our bodies but also our teeth and gums. A balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and whole foods promotes healthy mouths, supports strong enamel, and can even help prevent gum disease. Conversely, frequent snacking on sugary or acidic foods can lead to cavities and inflammation.
